But travel isn’t always sunshine and rainbows. There are moments of frustration, of course, when language barriers feel insurmountable or cultural differences leave me floundering. There are missed buses, lost luggage, and the inevitable bouts of homesickness that creep in under the cloak of starry skies.
Yet, even these challenges become badges of honor, testaments to the fact that I’m truly alive, that I’m pushing myself beyond my comfort zone and embracing the messy beauty of the unknown. They’re the grit in the oyster, the contrast that makes the sweet moments even sweeter.
